Community Pharmacy- Startup (Hands on Training) Organized by NHRIF with Nepal Pharmaceutical Association (NPA)
PROGRAM SUMMARY: Community pharmacy today has transformed from a basic drugstore to an establishment responsible to the primary healthcare of the entire community. There is more than what meets the eye regarding the necessary requirements and ethical pharmacy practice in the community. We aim to conduct a workshop introducing the basics of starting a community pharmacy. We aim to introduce participants to the basic foundations of community pharmacy such as registration process, ethical practice, location and premises, inventory systems and ordering mechanisms. This workshop provides a unique learning format encompassing the basic requirements and aspects of starting up a community pharmacy. The workshop will be conducted in a step by step module where the participants shall be able to learn the foundations of a pharmacy startup in a systematic way. This involves considerations before registration, physical infrastructures, and quality management systems such as inventory and post registration regulatory requirement. Worksheets pertaining to regulatory forms are provided and will be demonstrated. OBJECTIVES: 1. To provide a basic course on pharmacy startups 2. To introduce the pharmacy registration process and regulatory requirements in our country 3. To provide knowledge on quality management systems, ordering mechanisms and proper storage of drugs. 4. To introduce the responsibilities of pharmacists in practicing ethically.
